The Committee seeks to create a space for professionals, researchers, educators, and students to discuss the ethical dimensions of geoscience research, education, and professional practice. It encourages consideration of environmental, social, cultural, and intergenerational responsibilities in decision-making related to natural hazards, infrastructure, geological resources, and territorial development.

The Committee is currently developing its initial programme of activities, including:
- Geoethics talks in our educational activities.
- Research and knowledge-exchange initiatives in geoethics.
- Collaboration with universities, professional associations, IAEG committees, and other interested institutions.
The Geoethics Committee is actively seeking collaborators, researchers, educators, students, and institutions interested in developing research and joint initiatives in geoethics in Peru and the wider international community.
