Dr. Ever Castillo Osorio has been elected the new Vice President of the Peruvian Group of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG Peru)! Dr. Castillo brings over 18 years of high-level experience bridging Geomatics, GeoAI, Disaster Risk Management, and Environmental Sciences. He currently serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Yonsei University in South Korea and holds a PhD in Urban Engineering, alongside dual Master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Disaster Risk Management. Throughout his career, he has led pivotal projects in Spatial Data Infrastructures, hydrometeorological modeling, and machine learning applied to climate and urban resilience, while also serving as a professor at top universities in Peru. His international perspective and deep academic background will be invaluable as we continue strengthening our community, driving research, and fostering national and international alliances.
